PUPPY HEALTH AGREEMENT

We as breeders have done all that is possible to ensure that your new pug or french bulldog baby is in good health at the time of delivery.  It is VERY IMPORTANT to your new baby's health that you provide all necessary preventive vaccinations, required wormings, provide a healthy diet, regular veterinary care, and adequate living conditions.

NEW OWNER is responsible to provide immediate medical care throughout your puppy's lifetime at the first signs of illness, injury, or distress.  Failure to do so is considered neglect and nullifies any rights under this agreement.

NEW OWNER is soley responsible for all medical expenses incurred.  Adding a puppy as a family member is just that - EXPANDING YOUR FAMILY - and he/she is entitled to prompt medical care as well as annual vaccinations, worming, and heartworm prevention and at least a yearly health check by your animal care specialist.  Just like children, puppies can and will get sick at the least opportune time and can go from being healthy to needing medical care rapidly. Puppies are still babies at 8 or 9 weeks of age and MUST be closely supervised to ensure that they are not overdoing their exertions (providing a quiet nap-time is a good idea), and eats/drinks in adequate amounts.  There is too much outside stimulation in puppy's new environment and like a young child, they are not capable of determining these things solely by themselves.

NEW OWNER is required to have their new family member examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of delivery.  We, the breeders, must be notified within two days by email or fax the results of this examination. If neither form of communication is possible, notification by phone followed by written results mailed via the US Postal Service will be fine.  Failure to do so will nullify this health guarantee.

Your new puppy is guaranteed against LIFE ALTERING & FATAL GENETIC defects for the period of one year from his or her birth.  If a genetic defect of this nature is found within that time frame and is verified by a second veterinarian of our choice,  a replacement puppy of  like value will be provided as soon as one is available.  Replacement puppy may or may not be from the same set of parents but will be mutally agreed upon by both parties. This does not include internal, external parasites and/or kennel cough.  Also excluded is what is considered common and normal to the these breeds:  cherry eye, entropion, "loose" hips, skin allergies, elongated soft palate, and stenotic nares.  THIS AGREEMENT  DOES NOT COVER INJURY OR ILLNESS!

IF A LIFE ALTERING OR FATAL GENETIC DEFECT is varified as described herewithin, the puppy will be replaced as follows:

  • PUPPY with said defect must be returned to the seller in good condition, other than the specified problem at the BUYER'S EXPENSE.  Proper registration paperwork and a signed transfer form must accompany puppy.

  • IF PUPPY as been bred, spayed, neutered or euthanized without breeder's prior permission, no replacement will be provided.

  • PUPPY GUARANTEE applies only to the owner purchasing said puppy directly from us, the breeders, and is not transferable to a second party.

  • Show and/or breeder quality, animal size, color and temperment of puppy is NOT GUARANTEED.  We will do our best to provide  you with a loving, well-natured, puppy of your desired color but new owner must understand that color and size is not ultimately predictable.  Suitability for showing and/or breeding can not be absolutely determined until said puppy is close to becoming an adult and is not guaranteed.  Again, we will do our best to match the best puppy with you.

  • IF PUPPY dies, despite proper medical treament provided in a timely manner from onset of  symptoms, within one year from his or her date of birth, a necropsy must be performed at owner's expense to determine if the cause of death was from a covered genetic issue.  This report must be in writing and verified by a second licensed veterinarian to qualify for replacement.  We, the breeders, must be notified IMMEDIATELY if this situation occurs.

  • NEW OWNER is responsible for shipping costs of replacement puppy to their location.
Failure to fulfill all conditions and terms stated within renders this contract null and void.  A signed copy of this contract MUST be returned to us, the breeders, within a 2 week period of purchasing and receiving your puppy.  Failure to do so will render this contract null and void.

There will ABSOLUTELY be no cash refunds.

In the unlikely event that legal litigation were to ever be necessary, the buyer agrees that any such litigation will take place soley in Pend Oreille County, Washington and new owner agrees with this condition by purchasing a puppy from us.

Thank you for purchasing your new family member from The Mountain Valley Pug Ranch and we all wish you many years of health and happiness together.

Sincerely,

Ken and Merry Richardson
